Screen on or off base on cover open or close possible?

Sorry if this is considered as a double post. I've posted same question in the Ask a Question forum.

Hi, I have a HP Stream 7 with a third party case with cover. Is there any way to configure it to shut off and turn on the screen based on cover is closed or open?

If the cover has magnets then those should cause the screen to turn on or off depending on whether the case is open or closed. Hope this helps.

It has magnet to snap onto the two thin metal strips in the edge of the case. However, it does not turn on or turn off the screen.
