screenshooting with Fn+spacebar

When I first got my SP3 about 8 weeks ago tried out a few of those things you do as a virgin.

Tried screenshots using Fn+spacebar for screenshot and Alt+Fn+spacebar for screenshot of window in focus. Worked fine, and even posted the trick to my sticky notes.

now, for the life of me can't get it to work. Has something changed?
I can do screenshots with Windows+Vol Down, but find the timing problematic and it doesn't just do the window in focus.
both methods put them in the Screenshots folder, right?

yep. that is handy for some things, but:

• it only sends it to OneNote, not the Screenshots folder
• and you can only snip on the touch screen not another monitor that isn't touch
