Semi-Transparent Tiles

I just noticed something...

When you long-tap on a tile to change the size or location, all of your non-transparent tiles become semi-transparent. You can partially see your background through them. Try it for yourself and see.

I am not a developer, but it seems to me that since WP can make them semi-transparent for that moment, WP should then have the ability to give the user the option to toggle all of their tiles fully transparent or non-transparent whether the app developer made them transparent or not. Does that make sense?

That is cool... I'd like to see every app be required to have:
  • semi-transparent black icon
  • semi-transparent white icon
  • theme colored icon
  • transparent icon

The problem is that the transparent effect you see during rearrangement is different from what you get with the transparent tiles. Regular transparent tiles are only partially transparent; the parts that are important (like text or the icon) are opaque for legibility reasons. But when you are rearranging tiles, the entire tile becomes semi-transparent. This is easy for WP to do because it doesn't take any "smarts", it just blindly adjusts all the transparency bits when drawing the tile and presto transparento.
