Send as external account in Gmail?

I use an external email address that I send from in Gmail. Is that possible on the Windows Phone? If so, how?

As I mentioned in the other thread you posted in, you can do it for every message, just not selectively.

Just use WP7's browser to log into gmail and go to settings. You can choose the default "send as" address there.

whats the purpose of that? wouldnt it be easier to create a gmail account? or a live account for that matter?

Thanks TGB, I got it to work by setting it up through the browser.

DM: The purpose is that Gmail is an awesome email client...but I want to use my own personal domain.

No probs, glad it's working.

I do something similar with my mail and my domain. Have you considered the free version of Google Apps or Windows Live Domains? Either would allow you to use your domain natively without having to mess around faking the send as address.

I do use Google Apps for another domain. But I keep my Gmail account because I use it for so many of their other products.
