Did you ever had any Nokia phones BEFORE Windows Phone? It's easy to say they're good when your term of comparison is a Samsung or alike. But for those of us who have been with Nokia long before WP, we notice the constantly dropping standards that happened since 2009 which got ten fold worst once Nokia left and Microsoft was left in charge.
We're not comparing the Lumias to Galaxies or iPhones. Compared to those, the Lumias are rock solid and well build. Compared with older Nokias like the N70, the 6600... Not at all. And I'm not even going to mention the 3310. No Lumia has come remotely close to the indestructibility of the 3310

I understand your point here. I have the 3315 (just that battery has died)
Speaking about quality I doubt any phones get awesome quality anymore.
Nokia however in my opinion has the legacy in quality oh and would you like to have a 3310 as it is and carry it around in our ever judging society? even if you dint mind I'm sure you'd feel a little bit uncomfortable.
Remember the April fools 3310 joke now that will be awesome if they made it.

... and tried to run nokia software recovery tool. And it failed. I did a little search about the error ...

I have had several instances on BBs where I just wipe the OS and reinstall the whole thing using triple wipe and loader. Not sure how recovery works on Windows Phone but does your PC recognize your phone even? What was the error that the Recovery tool gave you? I have a 520 also so I am curious to know more that error in particular.

Holy molly 4 pages long and this was posted yesterday.

People listen up, the author gets it, it was his fault for dropping the phone and he paid for it. End of Story.

He also understand that what he did isn't covered in the warranty, no need to bash him about it.

You guys are proud WP users and I like that about you guys but holy cow you do not need to go into an angry mob on his ****.

He's only saying that pre-Windows Phone Nokia were famous for their brick like quality and it's utter destruction at anything it touches. It is also rumoured that Thor, the god of Thunder has a Nokia phone built into his hammer, which is why it can destroy anything. The Windows Phone Nokia phones aren't the same quality. It is true, they're not, it's extremely hard because of the glass screen, there's no secret way to make the glass virtually unbreakable, it just breaks. Also it's a plastic shell so yes there will be tends and chip damage on it but that's how it is.
