Set Up Questions

Last night, I purchased my first Windows Phone, an 8X. I've had a Zune Pass for years tied to a Yahoo email address. I assume that the yahoo email address is the one I need to use when I set up my phone, correct? I tried that and it didn't seem to work but I'm not sure if that's because of the back end problems that MSFT is having.

Second question, I've linked in my yahoo email account but it doesn't appear that any of my contacts are syncing. Again, backend problem??

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I'm excited to have my new WP but getting a little frustrated at how hard it's been to get up and running.

Its not a backend problem. You need to make sure that the yahoo account is linked to Microsoft like its a Microsoft account. If that to big of a pain, for me it was, create a Microsoft account go to Xbox music and transfer your xbox/zune account to it and it then transfer your contacts to the Microsoft account and all done! Hope this helps a little and enjoy the phone!! I love my 8x!!

If you transfer your Xbox music account to Microsoft account it will make you need to reset ur phone fyi...

Thanks for the advice. The yahoo account is tied to Microsoft - it's the account I use everytime I log into Zune using the Zune client. On the phone, if I look under Settings -> Email+Account, it says under 'Microsoft Account' "Attention Required" and that my hotmail password is incorrect. I'm putting in the correct password for the zune client. Any other ideas?

I believe you will need to sign into that account as if you are signing into your yahoo account if they are different passwords. then you can go into setting and put in your password for the Zune/Xbox music account in the music app part I believe is were it goes.
