Settings recover after hard reset

Hi,

I'm having issues with my HTC live tile updating and i'm considering doing a hard reset.
I wander if someone else tried a hard reset on wp8.1 and then recover everything using the new sync settings.
I would rather not go through all apps again and reconfigure my phone.
