Sharing videos on Whatsapp limited to 16 MB

First time Nokia Lumia 930 user, had an iPhone 6 before and one thing I liked about the iPhone is even if I had a 1 MB video taken, if I choose to send it to a contact via whatsapp, it would first say compressing video then it would send it, it never told me that the file is too large or anything

now I took a 1 minute video of my cats and wanted to share the video with my mom but when trying to send I got a message saying that the file is 49 MB only the first 16 MB would be sent...

very disappointed......is there a way around this or to have the phone compress the video like it does on iOS?

It takes some extra steps on WP to send video via WhatsApp. As Harrie suggested Video compressor is so far the best app I know of on WP (In fact I dont know anything on android and ios) to resize video and send it. If you buy it it's even better
