Shazam issue after 5/12/2011 update

I saw that Shazam had an update today, after looking it mentioned something about lyrics, so I thought cool, lets update. Maybe I can remove the lyrics app if it works out.

So I updated, it finished without an issue.

I had a tile on the homescreen for Shazam, so after the update was done, I went to launch it. The animation of the tiles sweeping away started, then was cut off and the tile returning animation started and it returned me to the home screen.

I did this a couple of times and thought, maybe I need to remove the tile and add it again. It wouldn't add, so I thought it time to reboot.

Now I do not see the app in the app list, and if I go to the store it only shows the option to rate it because it is 'installed'.

I have a NoDo updated Focus on AT&T with a 8 GB memory card that has worked flawlessly since day one.

Anyone else run into this??

Reported here as well: Shazam Encore for Windows Phone 7 released | MobileTechWorld. Either a glitch or they really want you to upgrade to the paid version.

Now that is funny, yep, there it is sitting in my games.... too funny.

I imagine they will fix it soon. That probably explains why the existing tile ceased to function.

Just clarifying, description in MP says if you've had the app installed before May 11 you keep unlimited tagging.

The Tile works just fine for me, and it's also in games. DVP here.

I uninstalled the app before i found out it was hidden in the games section and have had this app before may 11th. Re-installed and tagged 5 songs and it states i have reached my monthly limit and gives me the option to buy shazam encore. Am i effd in the A? and forced to buy the paid version?

If you're a heavy Shazam user I would say email their support to see if they can address that.

Yeah, we were tricked! Completely shady practice on their part. I will NEVER pay to use their server and hopefully someone will release a competing app SOON. What a bunch of azsholes!

I guess that's what I get for jumping the gun and always updating as soon as it appears.

If you had it installed before the update I would not update it if you want to keep unlimited tagging.

Only used it twice since November so the tagging is not an issue for me, but get it out of th damn Games section cause it's not important enough to get pinned and I am not gonna search for it.

Do not update

I to have the same issue and await a response from their support. Here's my scenario - I installed shazam several times the latest one being late april, I was a user prior to the May 11th dateline so I would get the unlimited tags still (btw, the youtube and others don't appear on your old tags, just the new ones after the update). So i continued to use it after finding it in the games hub and pinning it back to my home screen. After the 4th tag, I get the big box saying, I reached my monthly limit and if I want to continue tagging, I need to upgrade.
I've sent the email to support, and as I said before, am waiting on them to give me some solution... I think both apps are having issues that's why the 'free' version was yanked.

I actually saw this thread, didn't read it, but saw it last night and as I was reading it, I hit update all as "TVShows" had an update as well; by accident. I quickly left the app and checked today -- all good! The update didn't go through for either app.
