Should be worried about Snapdragon 810?

I set my eyes on the Lumia 950XL ever since they announced. Everything about the phone sounds great on paper, however the overheating issues of the Snapdragon 810 is well documented. Even though it is 2.1, which phones like Oneplus 2 and Nexus 6P used, is it something I should be worried? Any information on that? Maybe that heat pipe inside the phone might help?

Wait till the phone is released and see the reviews. See the presentation of the phone and how they solved this "problem".

Yes you should. I don't care what MS says. I read in the comments on Android Central that Richard said the Z5 got so hot recording in 4K that he almost dropped it. The Z5 has 2 heat pipes to dissipate heat along with thermal paste and still got hot.

I'm VERY reluctant to get anything with the 810, however, I know WP doesn't put a high demand on processing the way Android does. That and the fact that coding is better will determine if the 810 can be put through its pace and not turn to a toaster.

Well given the cpu/gpu output required to drive continuum, and what you've just said; well I'm in agreement and bothered too. Can't wait for a proper review!

I don't think it'll heat up like the other phones using this cpu on the 'standard' basis, but i'm almost certain it'll be hot as hell after some time spent using the continuum.

Maybe I'm missing something, but can someone provide a link to prove that it's the 2.1 version of the chip? I haven't seen that on any spec sheet. And I'm very interested in the phone.

Even though I can't verify, I'm 99.9% sure it's 2.1. No one should ever be putting in the original version. That would be insane.

I would tend to agree with you, however my only concern lies in that when a phone has an 810 on the specs it generally has (2.1 Version) For example

The reports I seen is that 950xl is using the same 810 as the 6P. There's just no way Qualcomm would send it older version at this point of life cycle for the 810. We should be fine
