Should I buy a Nokia Icon as a daily driver? Is Windows 10 any good on the phone or is it outdated?

Hi guys. Right now I use a Google Nexus 6P as my main phone, and though I've owned Windows phones in the past I've never had a reason to go back to them until now. I've been keeping up with the news and I really like the direction Microsoft is taking in unifying the Windows operating systems across all devices. I'm tempted to go back to Windows Phone so I was looking for a relatively inexpensive option when I stumbled upon the Nokia Lumia Icon. Unlocked and refurbished it runs a very good price so I'm thinking about pulling the trigger.

So my question is in 2016 is the Lumia Icon worth getting? Will Microsoft keep updating it or will it be obsolete and outdated as soon as I get it? I know it's a older phone so I wanted to get you guys' input before making a decision.

I think the Lumia Icon is worth it. It's still my daily driver after a couple years. And I'm running Windows 10 Mobile on it with no problems. Microsoft will continue to update it. Just be aware that it doesn't, and won't, have some of the more hardware related features of Windows 10 Mobile. For example, unlike the Lumia x50 line, the Icon will never have Windows Hello, Tap to Pay, Double Tap to Wake, or any feature related to Glance screen.

Besides all that, I think the Icon is a fantastic device for Windows 10 Mobile.

Been driving my ICON 929 for 2years and 2months AND on Insider Previews almost the whole time. My phone is like new condition. The only way I'd give it up is for a 950XL, but in my location I'm stuck with Verizon Wireless so THAT'LL never happen..

I found a new one on Ebay a couple months ago and love it. I say it's totally worth getting! I had a 928 prior, 2 weeks after release. Funny how we were told we'd get wp10 on it. Liars! I liked glance, but won't hold it against the Icon for not having it. I put the Verizon 10 on my Icon and other than doing 2 resets it seems to be awesome. Resets were separate issues, the one I did yesterday regarding wifi. Reset fixed it and I'm thinking the battery might be a bit better. Today is the first day with a full charge. Looking forward to seeing if it is better.

My 928 ran like crap with W10M. I got my Icon last week and it is a lot better.
