Should I get a 1520 or a 930? Kinda looking for reassurance.

You are obviously going to get more votes for the 1520 being in the 1520 subforum.

That was what I was going for. It's less "should I get a 930 or a 1520?", more "I think I'd like a 1520, should I go for it or take the 'safe' option?" :wink:

The 1520 is beautiful too though, and carries that classic Lumia DNA that started with the N9.

This is a very good point... This could be my last chance to own something in "Lumia yellow" (especially because I didn't like the glossy yellow 920, so I've got a white one) before moving onto something "Surface-looking".

Get an HTC one.

Holy wow, you guys. I'm sorry to disappoint, but a) I really like living in the UK wink, b) I don't think the M8 looks as good as the 1520 or the 930, and c) having worked in a phone shop in the past, and seen the pile of dead HTC phones in the back, I'm not overly encouraged about the build quality. Just saying. :amaze:

I didn't try the 930 but own a 1520. Since the specs are similar but the screen bigger i'd go for 1520. I don't even keep it in a full protected case and it fits my jeans (pops out a bit but since in Asia it's cool to keep shirts out of your trousers it doesn't show much) and the display is the best among all devices i have ever owned in any other platform.
But i may be biased because i like big screens. Could never go back to smaller ones. Eyes get spoiled.

Unless you need the payments spread out (and some extra tacked on as undeclared interest) you should be looking at buying a compatible from anywhere to use on T-MoUS and not waiting for them.

I will go for the 1520.
With a high-res camera, the extra storage space on SD cards will surely be needed.
Pocketability? Not a problem for me so far. Cold seasons are always longer than warm season. So, your jacket pockets will be big enough for your phone. As for hot season? Cargo shorts and non-skinny pants are my fashion statements. So no problem there as well.
Two-hand operation? I always use my 2 hands anyway. Even with my 4" HTC One X before.
After 2 weeks of use, you'll ask yourself why you bothered asking these questions. It's all a matter of getting used to any new stuffs.

The 930 will be perfect for you, I already have the chance to test the 1520 and personally I think it is a bit oversize and windows phone 8.1 does not use the size correctly as the note 3 and its multi windows

With WP8.1, the 1520 has finally been optimised for the larger 6" screen.
Eg the new Notification Centre has 5 user programmable buttons at the top for the 6" 1520, versus only 4 user programmable buttons on the 5" 930, which slightly cheesed me off, because I like to have quick access to: WiFi, internet sharing, flight mode, rotation lock & brightness.
If I owned the 930, I would have to forfeit the brightness button.

Other screens like internet browsing or Ms Word etc, the 1520 has been optimised for 6" by using smaller fonts & smaller menu bars, to display more information...

If the September 2013 Samsung Galaxy Note 3, or the forthcoming September 2014 Galaxy Note 4 was available with WindowsPhone 8.1, that would be a real killer phone!

Because the Note 3/4 is only 5.7", weighs only 160 grams, as opposed to 209 grams.
Though plastic & superlight, the fake leather is handsome, and the Note 4 has deleted the fake stitching.
The Note also has a built-in IR blaster for tv remote control.
Fingerprint reader too.
Note 4 should be water resistant too.
The Galaxy Note is indeed one of the best selling handsets out there, and battery life is great like the Lumia 1520!

However, Android OS looks unprofessional, cheap & messy.
Android scrolls very unsmoothly - a displeasure.
Android no longer has the end "bounce back" - apparently so it does not violate Apple patents.
WP scrolls beautifully with end bounce back.
Android's Polaris Office no match for Ms Office.
Hence a Galaxy Note 4 in WP8.1 could give us the best of both worlds.

WP8.1 still short on features like 3rd party microphone recording ability, and short on apps, but that will improve over time...
