I've been faithful to Windows Phones since the beginning and before too (Nokia). Now I'm tired of waiting for fixing the app gap and the bad quality apps, even more my lumia 950xl is very disappointing specially in design and want to move on and buy an iPhone, if the 7 comes with amoled would be cool btw. Is there any reason to still hanging on w10m? What do you think?

The fact that you are asking here may seal your fate.
As far as waiting for more in the WM10 realm it may never be a great experience for the consumer outside of enterprise.

You have the 950XL I'd hang on to it thru the early months of 2017.
I hope things improve.

The app gap won't close any time soon (if ever).

If you want apps, jump to another platform (you'll still get plenty of Microsoft goodness)

But, you'll be just another bloke with an iPhone.

No one stops you if you want to leave, you can leave or if still want to give it a chance wait for anniversary update.

haha to be another one with an iPhone is a good reason to stay here. I feel special when people ask me: what phone is that??

It's your choice, I personally think you'd miss Win phone if you change(I did) . After a break with android, I couldn't wait to get a Lumia. If apps are the main reason? It's your choice.

list your reasons why you like your 950xl and why you don't, compare them, the bigger or more demanding list wins out

I would suggest to keep the 950xl and get an iPhone or an Android that can serve as a good middle ground, since you're already having this debate as @Guytronic said. Do a 2 week (or just 1 week) trial with it and see how that goes.

I think it was @tgp that once said (I don't remember how they said it actually), it doesn't pay to be different by using Windows Phone if you are short changing yourself in the name of being different.

Nokia is what i prefer over every other device, sadly they ran out of game after choosing windows OS but hold on they are back and are probably going to launch an Android device alter this year. I purposely bought a lumia 730 as it was the final device by nokia before leaving the phone business and now i am looking ahead for the upcoming device from them and will make a jump for sure.

Nokia had that quality and uniqueness to their phones - distinct design, good hardware, great camera - windows phone was the right choice but at the wrong time. Now the OS is getting better faster but the hardware quality is no longer the same and innovations/design has fallen behind
