Recently I started getting this message on my 920.. It's very annoying especially since numbers don't even save on the SIM card.

Cleared all my voice messages, same problem. It just keeps popping up over and over and over. It's verrrrrrrrrrrryyyyy annoying.

Any advice?

I'm facing the same problem too. I really don't know how to access the SMS stored in my SIM card. Have tried deleting all my SMS but the notification still pops up.

Also occurred for me after receiving several text messages within a short time period (a few seconds). Event it will disappear after a while it is a very odd issue since text messages are stored on the phone, not the SIM card ...

Occurred on my Nokia Lumia 920 using Windows 8 and some days ago also on Windows Phone 8.1 ...

Maybe the issue depends on the SIM card used?

Put sim card into an older phone types Nokia N85 and there you have the option to delete SMS from the SIM card.

Text messages are stored on the phone + not having access to an old (Nokia) phone ... Btw, also occurred on WP8 ...

Same issue here. I recently changed sim. Got a message, please delete message to receive new message.
I have been using same phone for 2 years but messages were getting saved on phone memory and not sim.
W8.1 has made thinks difficult:angry::angry:

Exactly my thought. Replied to that post.
I am facing this issue for all messages, as since i changed sim all messages are going to sim instead of phone. Even a 1000 bucks mobile has option to save message in phone or sim. but our dear MS forgot to put it in in Windows it seems.
And i get like 30 messages per day :straight:

And where can we check message storage limit used on phone or sim? Its not given separately anywhere

Thank you!

Also added another answer/hints there with some new findings.

If you find one or more of my posts at "Microsoft Answers" helpful, please use the Found this helpful: Me Too link to give it more power

Hopefully Microsoft is able to fix that bug some day ...

2016 ... issue still not fixed!

(issue only occurs when receiving SMS from my home alarm system - Windows Mobile 6.5 is able to get messages from that number/system)

If you tap and hold down on each message you can delete them individually or go down to the 3 dots at the bottom and delete the entire thread.

Or open Storage Sense> email & Messaging > manage messages. You can delete individually or whole threads. That is the way it works on my AT&T 920, maybe you carrier has that option locked if it does not work.

That just brings you to your message inbox. Does not delete anything on the sim card.
