Just bought a second hand Band 1 and loving it, but have some simple questions that I cannot find answers to in the various forums, and would appreciate your expert answers :)

1. Health app on Windows 10 Mobile - is it possible to re-order/re-organise the information that you see on the Home screen
2. On my band, which icon should I use for tracking a walk ? Run or Workout ?
3. Is there no Live Tile info on Windows 10 mobile ? Mine isn't budging off the standard Heart logo, at any size.
4. Is there anyway to only receive Haptic alerts for Calls and Text Messages, but not for Emails ?
5. Is there still no way to import old FitBit data into MS health, or track weight on a daily basis ? (I've seen older answers to both of these, but want to check it's still the case.

Thanks in advance to anyone who wants to help a newbie get up to speed quicker :)

You mean reorganize the tiles on Band?
Health App > Hamburger (≡) > Manage Tiles > Then in the header where it says Manage tiles, tap the right arrow. You can then drag and drop the tiles into the order you want and tap the check mark to send it to Band.

Run. And use GPS a couple sessions to get your step length calibrated...

3. Is there no Live Tile info on Windows 10 mobile ? Mine isn't budging off the standard Heart logo, at any size.

I don't have any live tile on 8.1 either. Check out Pimp My Band. Not only can you customize wallpaper and colors, but you can pin a Band battery level live tile to your paired phone.

4. Is there anyway to only receive Haptic alerts for Calls and Text Messages, but not for Emails ?

I do not believe so... Neither the Health App on the phone nor the Microsoft Band Sync App on desktop give me that option.

Sorry, I never used a FitBit. It may be possible to add it into Health Vault.

Speaking of Health Vault. I have it on my 8.1 Windows Phone and my Windows 10 computer and it also is on the web.

Whenever I measure my BP or weight I add it in there on my phone. When I see my Doctor I review it with her. I need to start getting my cholesterol added in too.

Thank you my friend. All clear except question 1 referred to the appearance of the home screen on MS Health app on a Windows Phone. So when I go into the App, I see Steps, Calories, Sleep, Workout, and then a couple of lines asking me about going for a Bike Ride or playing a round of golf. However, there seems to be no way to re-order those details, or put them in any sort of more manageable dashboard like format. Anyway, pretty sure theres no options to do so from searching around the settings and preferences so will have to manage. Thanks again :)

Seems to me that they mirror the content and order you have them at on Band.

Steps and calories would be stock, then the others follow as you set them on Band. A distinction I didn't even notice until I compared my list to yours and then poked at my Band. For instance, I don't golf so it's not on my dashboard when I open Health.

Thanks. I learned a new feature too!!!

I just picked up my band 2 and after zero help from the sales associate at best buy I went with medium. That strap they have for measurement is utterly useless. Just tried it on and there is a full finger gap ..is that too loose? I can actually squeeze in 2 fingers.. I have it on the last clasp setting. Is it supposed to fit tight? Any insight would be appreciated. Dont know how to attach a pic here..Thanks

Regarding tightness... Most of the day I wear it just so the contacts all are flush against my wrist... When working out I get better HR readings by tightening it. You want it to be tight enough to not move around as you run without being so tight that it is uncomfortable or restricting- snug might be the best term . If yours is loose at the tightest setting I would exchange it.

When you are charging the band press the power button and you will see percent charged.

Bingo - that's correct. Moved Run up to the front end of the tiles, and it now appears on my app (phone) Health home screen. Take away golf/bike from tiles on band and they disappear from phone. Perfect, thanks !

Does the band auto turn off when not bring used or do I need to hit the power ? I would assume if I am not wearing on the weekend probably best to turn off to save charge? Or does it have a sleep mode?

You should turn it off when not wearing it. This will extend time between charges and thus, the length of time the battery will last. It can take approximately 1,000 full charge cycles.

Also how does Cortana work on the band? All it says is nothing new, check back later.

Are you paired to a Windows Phone or some other platform?

Paired to windows for now..but do have am android..might alternate depending on what mood I am in lol. What do you mean it can take 1000 full cycles? Does the battery inside has to be replaced after? Sorry I sound dumb..

No need for any apologies, we all learn something every day. At least I hope I do.

If you charge every other day as I do, then that's 2000 days. That's almost 5 1/2 years. I'm not expecting to change battery after that long. I'm sure there will be something new I'll have on my wrist by then. But if you charge you more often, that overall lifespan shrinks. Why push it? I'm sure the battery doesn't work the same on the last 500 charges as the first 500. And the last 200 would probably be much less run time. It's how batteries are. If you keep a device with a sealed battery running it will eventually wear out, yes?

Back to Cortana, then:

Also how does Cortana work on the band? All it says is nothing new, check back later.

Cortana integration will be more full on Windows Phone as opposed to Android or iOS. Cortana is simply more embedded in the OS on Windows Phone.

Open Health App > Hamburger (≡) > Manage Tiles > scroll down to the Cortana Tile. See the pencil next to the name? That means you can edit some of the tile functions. Tap the tile name > make sure Cortana is enabled there. I suspect it is, just double check.

On the Phone go to Settings > notifications + actions > look for Cortana on the list > make sure notifications are turned on for Cortana. If you don't get notifications in action center for news items, traffic, etc... They wont show on the tile.

That is a very helpful explanation on both matters, battery and Cortana!! Thank you. You made the 5 am forum visit rock!!! Thank you :)

Hey so a bit late but I do have some additional info for question 4.
I was able to take away email notifications on the band. You can actually even set it so that only emails from certain contacts give you notifications.
If you go to Health app > Manage tiles > Email (here you can toggle the switch to turn it off completely or tap the name and adjust the notification settings.
