Since the 8X 8.1 upgrade, why don't I have photo or camera apps and why doesn't Strage Sense work?

8X 8.1 Upgrade Issues. No Photo or Camera Apps. Strage Sense doesn't work

Vodafone UK 8X HTC 8.1 upgrade yesterday. Several things don't work.
No Photos in App list
Photos+Camera doesn't work in settings
Camera button doesn't work
(but camera functions when in office lens) so looks like Windows photo and camera apps not installed during upgrade,
And had to delete and re-sync music before new xbox music app would pick up tracks.
Anyone else had these issues?

Did you have Preview for Developers installed?

No, clean install from win 8. First install was to ready for 8.1 then 8.1 itself. Just followed the prompts.

I update my phone (without carrier) 3 day ago and not see any problem.
But for your problem
first Turn on/off your phone; if not solved try Soft Reset and if not solved again try Hard Reset (setting->about->Reset)
Tip: Recommended Hard Reset After major update

I'll try a hard reset as a last resort as I saw some post a while back where the 8X wouldn't re start after a hard reset.
Oh dear this reminds me of the bad old days of Window 3.0 and 3.1, the blue screens of death and ctl+alt+del. !!

Looks like something screwed up with your update unfortunately. I got my update last night (also on Vodafone UK) and I'm not seeing any of the issues you report (although storage sense isn't that much use aside from an overall free/used flash memory level, as we've no SD card slot).

Can you install the missing apps from the HTC section of the app-store?

I don't seem to have an HTC section of the App store any longer either, all though if I search on HTC I do get HTC apps. Unfortunately I think the ones missing are windows phone apps. I'll try a hard re set this weekend as have heard nothing from HTC.

Hard re-set worked. Just the hours of fun trying to get everything just as it was! But thanks for the assistance.
I still like the 8X, just wish it was waterproof and had an SD card!
