Skype push notifications

Hello!
I use Nokia 1520, dev preview, fully updated. The question is - why push notifications and messages do not work? Like in whatsapp - instant messages are instant. As for skype - I get new notification, I open skype, wait for it to fully sync and see new messages. Sometimes, it stops getting new messages altogether, I need to open app and then it refreshes.
And if internet is weak - no 4g, 3g or wifi - it's completely unreliable. Whatsapp works even on Edge...
Is it something wrong with my phone, or it's all known issues?

Hey, I have a 925 fully updated on cyan/8.1 and I have the same problem. Sometimes notifications are instant, sometimes delayed and sometimes I don't get them at all until open the app and it refreshes. It seems to be a WP thing as I don't have this problem on my iPad and the connection type (3g, 4g or wifi) doesn't appear to be the issue as I have experienced this on all connections. I also have a problem with contact pics, the ones in the little circle, not updating. I have changed my profile picture a few times but it just reverts back to the original. I would really like Skype to be WPs version of imessage,/facetime but its just so unreliable.
It would also be nice if when I wanted to share a photo from photo hub Skype was one of the options.
