Skype UWP App on Windows 10

Does the Skype UWP app on Windows 10 need to be updated in order to continue working, or will older versions of the app continue to work indefinitely? I know that Microsoft sometimes retires older versions of Skype on other platforms, but will that happen to the Skype UWP app, or will I be able to use it without having to update it?
