Me and my wife have had iPhones for 2 years. When sending text messages to each other using either iMessage or SMS the texts were always received in a timely manner and I don't ever remember there being a problem with duplicate messages.
I've switched to Windows Phone 8 and now some text messages, being sent or received, take upwards of 45 minutes to an hour on the long end and 5 minutes on the short end to be delivered. I'll also receive a text of hers in what I can only assume is a few minutes after she sends it and then 20 or 30 minutes later I'll get the same text again 2 or more times.
This makes it practically impossible to carry out conversations via text, which is one of the major features I use my phone for. She sends me a message, I respond, and then half an hour later I get a response to my response, with a bunch of other responses showing up suddenly.
Does anyone have any tips or fixes for this because as I stated I could do without 90% of the phones additional functions but being able to reliably send and receive texts is very key for my usage.
I love Windows Phone 8 for it's unique and fun interface, but when it comes down to core functionality of simple things like storage management, sending SMS messages, and being able to press FORWARD in a browser, they are incredibly behind. I only wish I had realized these things before my return window was up. At least the phone was free but now I'm stuck with it.
