SMS Sync between 2 WP8 handsets

I have a L920 and a L925 that are both connected to my Microsoft account. Different carriers, different numbers.

Text (SMS) messages sync between the two handsets, which is a cool feature I think. My question is how often does this synching take place?

It's not surprising. Text messages are linked to your Microsoft account and are synced along with your email and messaging to outlook.com

If you have the backup setting enabled, I expect it uses the same sync interval as your Microsoft Account email.

I don't like this feature and I am trying to figure out how to turn it off. My kid uses a 920 and I have a 1020. We share the same account in order to have XBox music. However my text messages are going to her phone which is on T-Mobile while I am on ATT. I would like to keep her messages to be backed up along with the apps list and photos for SkyDrive. Anyone know of a solution?

Go to settings > backup and turn off text message backup

I don't want to stop the backup for text messages, but want to stop it syncing to another phone. How can I do that?

You can't do that, one account-one user, that's their thinking. You have to turn off message backup on one phone.

try to create a sub account and link to your main account, and login your sub account on one of the phone
