Snapchat is needed!!

We need Snapchat on our phones! I feel that it is far more important that Instagram and Vine, as for both be already have 3rd party apps which are excellent and fully featured, yet have nothing in place of Snapchat. Will it ever come to Windows phone, or if not will a 3rd party app ever be allowed in the store?

I agree. I used Snapchat so much more than Instagram or Vine when I had an iPhone.

Precisely. Of course an official Instagram and Vine are great news, but I cant help but feel that the Microsoft and Nokia have focussed on the wrong targets, especially in the case of Vine. Snapchat is a necessity if Windows Phone plans to take any significant market share, and moreover, to keep up with the times, BBM is also needed. It does not matter if Whatsapp, nor LINE, nor Viber already exists on the platform, users of Android and iOS will now expect and want BBM on Windows Phone. It needs to keep up with the times. Its incredibly frustrating that whenever a new trend emerges, I am already behind the times compared to my friends who do not use WP.

I don't think they care about BBM either. Hopefully they get Skype up to speed by 8.1 so that it essentially makes BBM obsolete feature wise.

Well BBM is besides the point, no other app is more important to me than Snapchat and I will not be entirely happy with my phone until it is released. It is so irritating that such a perfect operating system is held back by the lack of apps.

I actually was naive enough to believe it would take a longer time than just a few hours to have the next "App XY is missing on my WP!!!!! Without this particular App my phone ist just nothing!!!"-thread...

So I guess there will always be Apps like Instagram, Snapchat, CountMyChicken or whatever missing on our beloved WP devices... At least for some of the users...
(Of course Apps like Snapchat and Instagram are crucial for a huge part of all the smartphone users, so it's totally fine for me to have threads like this one. I was just wandering )

I kept Swapchat on my phone, but it was delisted from the store a while back. It worked great. But within the last 2 weeks or so it has stopped being able to sync up new messages. Snapchat (Unofficial) works OK. I'm holding out for Rudy Huyn, his apps are awesome

My Swapchat has been syncing just fine! Not sure what your problem is, but yeah, as soon as Rudy's 6snap is available, I'm throwing all of my money at him!

hm. I would try to uninstall and reinstall the app, but I have never done a .xap file before so I don't want to risk losing Swapchat completely. yeah 6snap seems promising, I just dont know how soon it will come out. I was just looking at Rudy's tweets and it seems like a while out. the DennisCode guy mentioned above looks like he has one that is pending certification so maybe that is my next option.

I don't use snapchat (but i have in the past for curiosity purposes) but i can see why some people want it. I think vine and official IG are the big ones they needed. I know a few people who won't even look at WP because of IG.

As silly as I think that app is...I agree it should be made available on the WP platform.

my swapchat is back working. I had it's "messages" screen pinned to my home screen, but for some reason I had been logged out of the app. didn't know until I tried opening up the app from my app list. logged back in and works fine
