Sound playing even at 0 volume

Hi,
today I noticed that when I lower the volume to 0, sound still comes out of the Surface RT's speakers (although it is very, very quiet and kind of distorted). Only if I turn sound off through the tray icon in desktop mode will there be no sound. Is this normal/happening to anyone else? Thanks!

Lock unlock or restart the phone,,

My phone did this once which makes me think your issue is Windows related more so the hardware. A reboot corrected the problem.

Eugie and etphoto, a Surface RT is what I'm having problems with here, not Windows Phone. Anyway, even restarting doesn't change anything. Thanks for your input DBDev, I guess it is normal then...
