Hi there!
I'm new here and new to Windows Phone 8.
Copped the Lumia 521 and it's been mostly positive until this morning.

-All day the sound on my phone calls has been cutting in and out on a pattern.
It makes talking to people or listening to voicemails impossible.

-I tried to switch to speaker phone, but it automatically toggles off.

-Also, voice search toggles off on the same cycle.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Browsing the web and texting seems fine.

Thanks!
-Gary

I haven't heard of that issue. If it isn't being caused by horrible signal strength, I would return the phone and get a new one.

Well, this is unfortunate.
Thanks for the advice!

I run a small business and it's frustrating to not be able to speak with clients.

Have you tried to reset your phone? Just take out the battery and put it back on and try again.

No headset.
No bluetooth.

I did try resetting the phone by removing the battery for awhile.

I guess the next step is to factory reset the phone to see if the problem persists, but I'm hesitant to do that because the initial setup wasn't fun on the 521.
Google accounts not syncing properly and whatnot.

Thanks for the help!

No problem. Any phone from any maker can have these issues. Don't let it discourage you and hopefully you can get it taken care of!

Hey !
hope this does not come too late..
I just bought a L 521 and I have the same problem, just this morning..

I fixed mine by using a headset. Right after you took the headset out of the jack...your sound will be working fine again...

That's how it happens with mine..

I just put the headset in my phone and it works great so I am just going to keep using it that way...Guaranteed to work..Thanks!

I do not have a headset for my phone and when I talk to my friend in CA (he has an Apple phone) he tells me that the speaker phone does not start right away, he misses the first couple of words or syllables. Are you saying that I need to buy a headset or earbuds with a mic to fix this problem?
