I'm considering purchasing a wireless charger stand for my Lumia 950, and want to plug it into my SP3 Dock (USB 3.0 ports). The manufacture of the Qi charger mentions that I should use a source that has at least 2amps...when I look up the USB 3.0 spec on Wikipedia, it seems to suggest the min is 2a...is this true? What are the power outputs for the SP3 docking station USB ports?

Update: Haven't been able to figure out the specs, however after using it for a month or so, it seems to charge my Lumia 950 pretty quickly!

USB C is 5V @ 2A, this is also the same for USB 3.1. There is an addition to the USB spec, USB-PD, which defines multiple profiles, with the default at 5V @ 2A. It then goes up from there to as high as 20V @ 5A.

However for wireless charging, it is a lossy way to charge, it's not as efficient as a plugged in cable. I've never seen what the current is once it makes it though the wireless connection from the charger to the phone, but I'm willing to bet it's lower than 2A.
