I honestly didn't know this but when you are not charging your SP3, the pen can actually attach to the side of the SP3 where you connect the power just like on the SP1 & SP2. Now it isn't the same in terms of it actually going inside of your power connected like on the Pen on the first two Surface Pros, but I found it is pretty sturdy :)

Yes. That is true, the Microsoft store rep showed me when I bought mine. I don't store it there though. It's not on there very tight. I keep the pen with my folio case when I'm not using it.

If your type cover isn't attached, the bottom magnet is even stronger, and will latch onto your pen like its the cover.

No offense but the title is rather misleading. This is not a pen magnet nor is it even a feature. It is a reality of magnetism and a meal pen body. One could just as readily call it a key holder or paperclip collector. I would also be hard pressed to say it would hold anything for any length of time.

I don't think the title is misleading, there is a magnet on the SP3 and the pen has magnetic properties on the clip which makes it stick to the SP3. I find it hold onto to is pretty good.
You could call it a paperclip holder or whatever magnetic you have but the reality is that the Pen sticks to the same place the SP1 and SP2 pens stick.

I didn't think about this until someone posted it a while back, but you get a better magnetic hold if you put the pen with the button down rather than up.

Amazing, much better grip when upside down 😃

Easiest way to lose the pen IMO. It's not strong enough to hold the pen unless you're carrying the thing like a tray with cups of coffee on it.
