[SP3] Settings question?

I have i5 128 gig. I only get 3.5 hours off a full charge when streaming to chromecast. I use the chrome browser and movies on sites like movietube. I only have wifi on. My screen is down to the lowest setting. and bluetooth is off. I hear the fan run the entire time. Is there a setting I need to check or is this normal?

Chrome is notorious for eating battery life. You could try the MS adapter or something else that supports miracast and then use IE to stream the video.

Here is a good article that describes how to use the powercfg -energy to find specific problems with your battery life that I think you may find useful. It will work the same in windows 8/8.1

Use PowerCfg in Windows 7 to Evaluate Power Efficiency

If you enable this while you're streaming to your chrome cast it will show you the power usage of everything that is involved in the process from the chrome browser to the wireless adapters.
