Why can't you guys get a handle of the spammers. Annoying has heck!

Yea they're starting to get out of control. I'd suggest enabling the feature where you need X posts before you can create threads. Of course that won't help site comments...

We are trying but new software often means new challenges.

Dan, Richard, myself and the other mods are constantly keeping a watch for spam that slips through and deleting it as soon as we see it.

As George stated, we're trying our hardest to keep it spam-free and are extremely grateful for all of you reporting the spam posts/threads.

We shall be re-configuring the forums slightly in terms of security this weekend to help prevent more being posted, but since registrations can be created on the main site too, the forums really needs post related security, which could impact on the user experience. We need to find a balance, and this is the hard part.

Whenever I report spam, I always post it as "spam spam spam and eggs" or some derivative thereof. As if anyone here would know what I'm talking about...
