State of Decay 2 VRAM issue - Surface Book 2 15"

So I have a Surface Book 2 15" with the 8GB NVIDA and I am getting a VRAM error stating that SoD2 requires 2GB of VRAM.
Any work arounds. This Surface Book has been great for gaming, I can run World of Tanks on the highest settings with no issues, same thing with XCOM2, Kerbal Space Program as well, but SoD2 is an issue.

Someone mentioned that I need to assign the GPU through the NVIDIA control panel.....is that the correct path?

I'm not even getting an error. I try to load the game and it crashed at the splash screen with no error. I have a Surface Book with the 940M. It's only 1 GB of VRAM, but that's the only spec I'm short on and I'm able to play much more graphic intensive games like Witcher 3 and other similar spec games like Gigantic and Killer Instinct. Any help would be appreciated!
