Still Worthy Of Buying

I am looking to get back to WP and hate contracts, so I want to buy used. Is the 920 still worthy as a WP device? From what I can tell, it will be getting the 8.1 update, correct me if I am wrong. How's the camera compared to iPhone 4s? For those that would know.

is there anything else I should consider about this device? I am on ATT and see they are going for around 150.00 used. Any suggestions would be great,

I've had my 920 from the very beginning - November 2012 - and I still love it. It performs well with no lag or stuttering and the photos I take still get praise when I post them to facebook. It's thicker than your typical phone nowadays but I love the way it feels in my hand. I'm used to the weight and thickness obviously but I never had a problem with it and it feels very, very solid.

My wife's 920 didn't survive a drop so I took it into the Microsoft store for the insurance replacement. Guess what, they hadn't had any 920's for a few months and they offered me a 925, 1020, or even a 1520. You'd think grab the 1520 right? Nope, they took out QI charging and I knew it'd be too big for her pockets. My house is full of QI charging pads and we love the convenience instead of having cords hanging all over the place. So then it's between the 925 and 1020. But guess what, both can't do wireless charging unless you buy the extra shell that gets in the way of a protective case. Now fast forward and look at the Lumia 930 that was announced (or the Icon). Both of those removed the Glance ability which has also become one of the best loved things about Windows Phone. Ladies and gentlemen, the Lumia 920 is still the best overall device, and that's kinda sad. :( If I hadn't figured out how to hack a wireless charging coil into a case for the 1020 (which I chose) I'd have sold it and bought a used one.

Still worth buying? Hell yeah.

Not really. The 1520 has wireless charging built in everywhere else in the world, making it the best handset. You should change networks :)

What you mean is I should change countries. :P Not at AT&T, they changed it to PMA or something. And I couldn't get the global QI version via insurance replacement. Also my wife wouldn't have liked the size, 4.3-4.8 is still the optimal size for the average person.
