Storage sense email+messaging

I'm almost out of storage space on my phone memory, so I decided to clear up a few things. I went to storage sense and found out that my "email+messaging" section, was taking up 150 Mb of space. It's odd because I don't have any emails on my phone and I just deleted my messages.

So what's taking up this space? And how can I clear it?

I believe I've read somewhere that you have to delete the e-mail account for cleaning up the whole space, but I am not absolutely sure on that.

I only have one email account . I deleted the rest of them. The existing account itself doesn't even have more than 10-15 mails in the inbox (i clear messages regularly).

I can't delete the account, cause it's the primary account, so my phone won't allow me to delete it anyways.

Then there is maybe some data that kind of has to be there, or this data category holds additional stuff that we don't know of. I'm no pro regarding this matter ...

How much space is your "email+messaging" section taking up?

Mine has 174 MB, but with 4 mail accounts and a lot of short messages.

you are lucky. I have only the Hotmail (primary account) and see whats it showing in my storage sense ... I don't even have a single mail per day

Wow! That is a LOT of space. Let me know if you find a way to clean it up.
