If you're looking into aftermarket batteries, buy a reputable brand and not just necessarily the biggest battery.

Well my Surround had a 1230mAh, and some new phones have 1650mAh, so it will vary from OEM to OEM. They will squeeze whatever they can into the space. Btw, mAh = milliamp hours. More is better.
