Suddenly unable to hear any sound when receieving calls?

i was talking on the phone when suddenly i could hear no sound. i tried to switch my phone off n restart it again but it was of no avail so what should i do so that i can answers calls properly again?

Sounds like it could be a hardware problem. Is it still under warranty?
