Every single format is supported, use moliplayer. Watch Mahabharat or breaking bad.

Moliplayer is a paid for app. The question surely which formats does the Winphone natively support.
I can't get an .avi to run natively.

avi is working on my 1520.3 WP 8.1 Cyan in the native player. mkv does not.
