Suprising: WP8 still without root and interop unlock?

I can understand the fluidity part, but explain the speed part.
Honestly, many people are still getting caught up with laggy Android launchers or perhaps some confusing interface choices. That's not to say that those aren't valid complaints, but they aren't enough to apply some generic "Android is snail-paced" statement to any performance related discussion. Also worth noting that Android typically adopts more demanding features such as 1080p displays before Windows Phone, so some performance gains are offset in that.

Android is in no way so terribly incompetent that much improved hardware sees no benefit. Anyone with a WP7 device, particularly a first-gen model, knows how painstaking the loading times for apps and games are. The better processor in the Galaxy S2 smoked my Omnia 7 in such measures, period.

I've read a lot about the security on this platform prior to purchase and that intrigued me. I'm in agreement that it must be secure boot that is the cause for delay. I never jailbroke or rooted my devices other than an HTC one to remove Sense. They should definitely push the security aspect when it's time to move into the enterprise.

and my htc one is blazing fast..and just as smooth as my lumia 920 was

Without that quad core it wouldn't be. That's the argument people are truing to make.

My quad-core argument isn't about what the phones need, it's what they do.

If any Android ****** starts the spec fight bragging about their quad core, I always ask this one simple question which they can never answer: "Why do you need it? What does it let you do that a dual core wouldn't?"

Let me cycle the battery as often.

Hah, by looking it under conservative of energy, either you pay an increment cost for the best available hardware, or you put down a couple hundred million to optimize from the software prospective. MS is trying to combine the best of both market leaders by balancing user experience and out standing spec. Still too early to judge whether it is superior to Google's Android model, but one thing for sure, it doesnt fall behind either.
