Was pleasantly surprised to find the Surface and Windows 8 area with high traffic in a best buy in the Galleria area of Houston Texas. I was looking for a touch cover 2 and could't find anyone to help me (typical Best Buy) and 2 people ahead of me had questions as well. The guy finally shows up and the guy before me asks the question I wanted answered: where can I get a backlit touch cover 2? We waited in the area for responses and I watched in amazement to see people go from the tablet section to the Surface and iPad section and speak of Windows 8 and Surface right alongside Apple's iPad. One man even tried to get his wife an iPad with Bluetooth keyboard case as she furiously stated. "You want me to get that, but I want this *points to Surface Pro 2". This runs real programs and has a touchscreen." Touchscreen laptops, hybrids, and all-in-ones were the only thing I saw being sold along with gift cards and TV's. I'm glad to see that I already have the future in my hands and Microsoft is probably playing the tortoise-and-hare game again - taking losses and slowly usurping an industry by being patient and listening to consumers. I don't feel like my choice in tech product is validated by having people choose as I do, or like a hipster because I'm a beautiful unique snowflake and no one is like me because I have such a niche product, but getting these people on board is great for bringing developers for more and better quality apps to the ecosystem and we could all benefit from that.
