as mentioned by Paul Thurrott and MJF, surface book makes a lot of noise on the headphone out. This is particularly noticeable if you own noise cancel headphones. Try it out and let me know if you can reproduce it. Just crank the volume up. Play a song then stop it.
Let the dipslay go to sleep, then wake it up, you'll hear all sorts of buzzing.
TBH, this is really dissapointing of MSFT. I hope it is firmware because if it is electrical shielding or grounding issues, you're going to have to exchange it and knowing MS, this will not be easy.
