Just bought a Surface Pro (1st gen) new from Amazon (marketplace vendor, but fulfilled through Amazon). Got it yesterday and selected download and install updates as the first thing. I believe 84 updates. They downloaded, installed, then the Surface restarted once or twice and is now endlessly stuck on the blue "please "wait" message with spinning circle.
I don't believe this was the update to 8.1, just software updates. On both a Surface 2 and Surface RT, I remember doing the 8.1 update after the updates were finished.
On one of the restarts I think the message said Microsoft Services failure and then something like redoing ... that's when it got into the endless please wait.
I've tried turning off and restarting, but it comes back to please wait. Last night, I shut down (or hibernate/sleep - not sure what it is defaulted to on a new machine?), turned on this morning and it said it was restarting. I thought everything was going to be good, but it ended up back at the blue please wait screen.
Waited for another hour, then tried restarting, hitting esc, but nothing. Still please wait.
While it's awake and spinning on please wait, I can see in on the network.
Suggestions? Help? :crying:
