surface pro 2 refresh

I just want to refresh my surface pro 2 as I feel my battery life is reduced to just 5-6 hours, I just want to refresh it, what will happen if I refresh it? Do I need to install any drivers after that? Do I need to reinstall my desktop programs or they will be retained? Please help and what will happen if I select option below the refresh in recovery options?

It should tell you what a refresh does.

I believe Modern apps and documents will be saved, but kiss your desktop apps goodbye (save for the preinstalled ones)

The Reset is a more drastic option. If you need to take off and nuke the computer from orbit, use this. It basically erases everything. The option to use if you're reselling your computer or otherwise want to start from a completely blank slate.

Below that, IIRC, is the advanced startup button, used for troubleshooting and other advanced tech features.
