Surface Pro 3 Display Dock not working suddenly

Hello,

Suddenly, my Surface Pro 3 Display Dock has stopped working! I am using a Surface Pro 3 i7 with it.

I have a simple setup with one external monitor (ASUS VG248). I am using the (overpriced) Microsoft display adaptor (for HDMI connectivity). Display dock, display adaptor, and monitor were bought brand new (4 months old).

Problem started when I would turn on my Surface (always docked unless I need it on the go), instead of the external monitor (which is on sleep mode) firing up and being the main display, a fuzzy white screen would appear. I would then disconnect the display adaptor, and replug it in and it would then work fine. This would occur a couple times in a week and has been going on for about 2 months.

Now, while docked, the external monitor simply does not detect the HDMI signal. After replugging the display adaptor, rebooting, shutting down and firing back on my monitor....nothing has been working. I switched out the HDMI cable with no success. I even went to my local Microsoft Store to test my display adaptor with one of their Surfaces and it worked fine.

Any suggestions or ideas here? Maybe my docking station has gone bad? I have not moved it and it has only been on my desk since day one. Please help.

Re: Surface Pro 3 Display Dock not working suddenly

Hello,

I tested the micro display port on the surface (right side, above USB). I connected my MS display adaptor to it & via HDMI, connected to my ASUS monitor. It worked perfectly.

I am convinced it is a docking station issue. My Surface is up to date via Windows Update. Could I be missing a docking station driver update or an Intel Graphics 5000 update??
