surface pro 4 magnets will they affect other laptops

i have a surface pro 4 128gb m3 and i have the top of the range (1tb ssd, 32gb ram, 4k, touchscreen) dell xps 15 infinity edge, and i am wondering if it safe to sit my two devices together considering the surface pro 4 has magnets in it.i want to be able to sit them together in a backpack or on a desk.

so are they safe to sit them together? i don't want to ruin my laptop that i paid almost ?2000 for.

They'll be fine.

You need some pretty strong electro magnets to get the strength to wipe computer discs.

As someone who had a magnet dropped on a laptop keyboard and ended up needing a new HDD I'd be careful!!

awh man thats truely sucks ***. but i dont think ssd drives are affected with magnets as they are a different type of storage completely

I just checked (should have done in the first place!) and the OP's laptop is indeed a SSD....so no worries about magnets :smile:
