Syncing my Lumia phone with Windows 10

When I plug in my Nokia Lumia 928 into my laptop's USB port nothing happens and I can't see the phone. Can't find a Windows Phone app in the W10 Store. I have checked and all my USB ports are running the latest drivers. Am I missing something ?

Search for windows phone companion program. Do you have it installed yet?

Check the Usb cable, some cables only carry voltage to charge devices.
