My system storage shows 3.9gb, any idea why or how it has occupied so much space?

System storage contains files that "make your phone work", which may include additional keyboard languages, language packs and incremental OS updates. The full details of what these files are are most probably kept behind lock and key by Microsoft.

P.S. My system storage is 6.31GB in my L1020.

Thank you, I was little worried cause previously it was 2.5gb.
