T-Mobile Nokia 635 - is there anything I can do with this?

I have a USA T-Mobile 635. I've been using it as a backup and have a use for it as a kind of portable video camera (the camera is far superior to that on my BLU phone). Is there a way to make this work with a newer version of Windows Phone? Unlock and/or install a newer version? I'd like to get an updated Windows Phone 8.1 software on the phone and I know it should work.

If you want to get windows 10 mobile on your phone, check using upgrade advisor app if your phone is eligible for the upgrade

if you're still set on getting windows 10 mobile, you can try using the insider program How to install Windows 10 Preview to your Lumia Windows Phone | Windows Central

One change you should make: make sure to choose release ring and not slow/fast

Really all I want is a newer version of 8.1. It's a shame that T-Mobile and Microsoft couldn't get together to update this phone.

My Tmo 635 was able to be upgraded to 8.1 and 10 through Windows Insider Release ring. And about a week ago wifi calling started working again.

I'm back in business - using this as my main phone again. I'd love to update to the next version of 8.1, but will stick with Cyan since that's what we seem to be stuck with.
