Has anyone managed to buy the Lumia 640 direct from T-Mobile on a prepaid account? If so, how? I tried buying it on the website which their main listings is not designed for direct buy(according to tech support) for prepaid and the store cannot do it either.

I don't believe you can. The only way you'd be able to buy the phone for prepaid is at Walmart or through other online/store retail stores.

T-Mobile does not offer current model to pre-paid accounts. They do offer both refurbish models and past model phones at high prices that were first release at however. It not a good buy.

Yes they do at Walmart, I bought a 640 prepaid phone/sim card off the display rack for $99.00 yesterday.
