Hey guys,

I'm going to see the Avett Brothers later next month, and I'm wondering what audio settings are best for folk rock concert. I'm obviously going to use directional / Surround, but what about the bass filter? Anyone have any experience? Default (100 Hz), Off, or Strong(200 Hz)?

Turn off the filter for the concert. There is a LOT of musical information below 100Hz. Think of a subwoofer on a home theatre system. With it on you are effectively removing what would come via the subwoofer. I have mine turned off all the time unless there is a strong wind or low frequency signals that would impair what I am trying to record. Someone giving a speech as example.

I use directional. I don't use surround. I didn't see any benefit. You can turn the 100hz filter off if there is no wind noise.

The 100hz filter was on on all of these examples.

Here are some examples. https://vimeo.com/album/3032677
