If you're not satisfied with your support from AT&T, file a complaint with the BBB. The more they get, the more they'll have an impact.
I filed a complaint with the BBB a few months ago about 8107... https://atlanta.app.bbb.org/complaint/view/27243928/c/b2km24. The complaint was closed when AT&T got back to them that they "have determined that we will not offer 8107 at this time... AT&T sincerely regrets any inconvenience this issue may have caused. Please feel free to contact me directly at 4053024369 if you have any additional questions or concerns in this matter." from Shane Clark, the AT&T Customer Appeals Manager. Maybe if we all call him directly and complain?

im surprised at&t has been responding quickly. I emailed the guy back and said I've called customer support and technical support and a they can suggest is to buy a new phone. So I received another email from another person.
Thank you for taking the time to e-mail AT&T regarding updating the software on your Samsung Focus to Windows 7.5. My name is Gary Robertson, and I am happy to help you with your inquiry.

I have verified the software updates for the Samsung Focus have been available since 6/27/2012. To complete the update please follow the instructions below.

The device update process:

1. Download Zune or WP7 Connector software to PC or MAC (if not previously installed).

2. Connect the device to the PC or MAC.

3. A full backup of the device is performed.

4. The update is applied to the phone.

5. The phone's data is restored from the earlier backup.

All WP7.5 updates are obtained through the Zune desktop software.

I replied saying I've done that and it says my phone is up to date with os 7720
