Text message lags

Does anyone lag when your texting? When I'm typing up a text message it would just freeze for less than 5 seconds and show the rest of the message.

Mine does this as well as does my girlfriend's phone. I have a Focus, she has a Surround. Mine has more storage, her's is stock. I don't know if it just the length of the thread or what, because it seems it is only our conversation.

Any ideas?
