Text Message Notification on Lock Screen - HTC 8X

Does anyone know if you can turn off the text message notification when your phone is locked? If my phone is locked, screen is dark, when I get a text message, it flashes the screen on for a second, shows the message in the top bar and then turns back off. I would like to disable that function.

Sorry, but you can't. Not now anyway.

If you're wanting to kill the message notifications at the top of your lockscreen....

then go to Settings|System|lock screen...

look under 'notifications (midway down screen)...'Choose an app to show detailed status'...
change from 'Messaging' to 'none'

Now you shouldn't get any message notifications on your lockscreen.

I am actually trying to kill the small text message notification that pops up at the top of the lockscreen when the phone is locked. It truncates the text message at the very top of the screen and flashes the screen on for about 3 seconds.
