I am completely on windows 8 for all devices. Nokia 928 phone, windows 8.1 for laptop and desktop. I am wondering if there is a way that I can receive and respond to text messages that I receive on my phone from my computer if I am sitting at it.

This would have been a wonderful feature to have. MS should come out with an app similar to MyPhoneExplorer for the Sony Ericsson mobiles.It was sooo convenient.Just connect through BT , open MyPhoneExplorer, type messages ,browse messages....

It's possible over Bluetooth, with certain Bluetooth stacks. I don't know much about it. I once got it to work with WP7- but the software I was using didn't sync contacts or support threading. So every message came in under the phone number and you could only view one message at a time.
