Text narrator

I turned on text narrator and the phone is a brick, HELP, can't get passed the lock screen. Has a bright yellow highlight around it. I have the 928.

What is this text narrator?

It is an option you can turn on so the phone reads your text to you, I wouldn't do it though, still can't get my phone to work, can't even do a hard reset because I can't turn it off. Anybody have any ideas??

Seems like a lot of users installing WP 8.1 preview update are facing this issue.
I read in another post (Thanks to the user post), the only way to disable narrator when its active is to press the Volume up key and double tap on the Windows home key.. This should bring the phone back to normal mode..
The narrator is annoying feature! Never ever am I going to activate it..

I turned it on to see what's going on.
The voice said I needed to double tap the slider to turn it off.
Double tapped it turned off no problem.

Thanks everyone, I went to Nokia and downloaded a program that swipes the phone clean and goes back to factory settings. Reloaded all my settings and apps and I am back in business, haven't decided whether or not to go back to 8.1, tempting......
